A place with soul, a must-see. 1. A very warm welcome. We were four adults and three children. We were greeted like old friends we hadn't seen in a while. 2. An interesting and informative tour. Alexey, the commercial director of Croizet, gave us a tour of the old workshop with barrels over 100 years old. We smelled cognac straight from the barrel. We bombarded Alexey with questions, and he answered them all. An interesting fact: Croizet cognac has become the most expensive cognac sold in the world, according to the Guinness Book of Records, at over 1 million euros per bottle. 3. The tasting. They didn't charge for it, like they do at larger houses. We tried VSOP, XO, and Milizim from 1976. 4. The cognac is excellent, even the VSOP. With age, it becomes more complex. The Milizim, however, was amazing. The alcohol is undetectable, but the aroma is rich. La saveur est délicate : cerises mûres, raisins secs, pruneaux et vanille. La finale est longue et veloutée. Superbe. 5. On ne m'a pas incité à acheter quoi que ce soit. 6. Le château lui-même est ancien ; le mobilier et la décoration me transportent un siècle en arrière. Une atmosphère unique.
